Our Team
We are inspired by the strides young, talented community members make during their experience at The Homeschool Music Academy of Gloucester. We enjoy being a part of their future success, even beyond the musical arts sphere. In addition, we look forward to nurturing well-rounded individuals who can make a positive impact on their communities. Not only will these fantastic kids obtain artistic achievements, but also personal growth and the development of life skills that will benefit these students throughout their lives. We will always strive to instill good character, hard work and dedication into all our young academy members.

She joined a local fiddle group from a young age, was a soloist in the High School Jazz band, and also sang in various choirs. She went on to earn a Music Performance Degree in Violin from Houghton College. After college she taught music classes and orchestra at a private school for one year before marrying her husband, Brian, a black hawk pilot in the Army. While traveling the world together, Brian and Julia have had 4 amazing kids; and they started their homeschooling journey 10 years ago. Julia has been teaching private violin and piano lessons for the past 17 years, and also has been teaching in and taking membership roles in several educational groups, to include 6 years of tutoring Classical Conversations Foundations and Essentials, and different music classes in other co-ops. Julia has also performed professionally with her violin over the years. She loves to perform, but she also loves to teach and inspire those around her. She knows there’s a need for homeschoolers to have access to excellent music education and ensembles to join, and she is thrilled to finally be able to form this Academy with the help of two other awesome directors and with our amazing teachers. This is a dream come true, and is filling a huge need in the homeschool community!

She has loved music since she was very young and even would boldly sing in front of her church at 2 years old. This became a precursor to many years of participating in music ministry. Krista went to Bethel College and left with her husband, not a degree. 😆 (No regrets!) They've been married for 15 years and have been blessed with three boys aged 8, 5, and 2. Krista has experience in participating in children's ministry such as children's bell choir and has organized VBS for several years. Her hobbies aside from singing are crafting of all sorts, painting, wood working, organizing, gardening and future chicken keeping! 🐔 Krista loves camping and going to the beach with the family.

Savannah Williams is a proud Virginia native who, after living in Washington state and Maryland collectively for 8 years, relocated back to Hampton Roads in 2022. She became a stay-at-home mom when her daughter, Juniper, was six months old and began their homeschooling journey when Juniper entered kindergarten. Her second child, Lochlan, arrived in the middle of the pandemic in 2020. Throughout her time as a stay-at-home mom, she has volunteered with Bible Study Fellowship as a Children’s Leader and devoted her time organizing events for various Mom support groups and their families.
In her past life, before kids, Savannah worked for almost a decade at Colonial Williamsburg, holding multiple kinds of interpretative positions. Her most beloved title was Actor Interpreter; taking on roles of historical figures and bringing them to life through first-person performance. She also performed in a number of 18th century style plays and scenes, sharing her passion for acting and history with all ages. Having acquired a Bachelor degree in Visual and Performing Arts/Theatre at Longwood University, and possessing a love for history since she was a little girl, acting at CW was a dream job. She looks forward to sharing her excitement of and experience in performing with her local homeschool community!
Through all the roles she has held, enjoying life with her husband of 15 years, having the ability to spend ample time with her children, and continually learning alongside them while homeschooling has been her absolute favorites! When she’s not ushering her children to frequent homeschool events, you may find her deep in a Biblical study, exploring a nearby state park, or lounging with friends and family on the beach.
